Comments about Royal Canadian Mint $30 Sterling Silver Coin - International Year of Astronomy (2009):

This is another unique and stunning coin from the RCM! I'm not into collecting Canadian coins, but I have two young daughters, both budding numismatists, and I bought this coin (along with another RCM coin) to give them for Christmas. I know they'll absolutely love this coin and it may help spark a life long affair with coin collecting. Super looking coin that everyone can enjoy.

Comments about Royal Canadian Mint $30 Sterling Silver Coin - International Year of Astronomy (2009):

As compared some gold coins, this one is a lot
larger, and heavier. The design, the detail
and the layout or artistic merit is excellent
if not, outstanding. The color in the middle,
of the galaxy, featuring Saturn and the moon,
brings this coin into the 21st century in
sophistication (color, tones of blue, etc.)

The finishing in outstanding as well ...shiney,
glossy, the ultimate, minute detail even on the
back portrait, as well.

This is something the Mint should be proud out
no question, hands out, as a product.

The only concern, for some buyers, or collectors,
are the 2 hues of blue, one for dark blue used with
the galaxy view, and the light blue, used for the
breaking of dawn, or somethings, the lower altitude
sky reflecting city lights in the clouds. Some may
mistake the lighter blue for a miscoloration, which
is clearly not the case. Personally, I would have
recommended one tone of blue only, dark, to avoid
that confusion.
