Comments about Royal Canadian Mint $15 Sterling Silver Coin - Queen of Spades (2008):
I am not much of a coin collector, but a poker player instead. I was drawn to this beautiful coin.
The Bad: Although the engraving and detail are wonderful, the painted colors are horrible. The first time I handled the coin, the paint began to peel. When I tried to scratch the paint with a fingernail, it came off very easily.
The Good: After the paint began to come off, I removed all of it (Yes, I know this made the coin "worthless" but I am OK with that). Without the paint, the coin is much more stunning that WITH it. The yellow paint had covered up some of the best engraved patterns and the coin is absolutely amazing. I will keep/use it for many years to come.
