Comments about Royal Canadian Mint Pendant Making Kit (coin not included):

I wasn't sure what to expect as I read the reviews after my order was placed and several were negative. I will agree that the black necklace part is very cheap however my plan all along was to use the sterling ring with my new coin and my own silver chain. I found it easy to install the coin in the ring and find it looks attractive, I am very happy with the purchase. I am also pleased that placing the coin in the ring displays it without defacing it.

Comments about Royal Canadian Mint Pendant Making Kit (coin not included):

The necklace is not likely what you will use with a nice coin, but it works until you get a silver necklace. Understand that what you are buying is the silver bezel and that they are otherwise very difficult to get. I wish that the Mint had them in more sizes so that other coins could be used and enjoyed. It is very easy to instal the coin but the bezel is slightly large so I put a spot of clear silicone inside the bezel at the bottom to keep the coin from spinning. I gave two as gifts and they look great.

Comments about Royal Canadian Mint Pendant Making Kit (coin not included):

The coin holder, on its own, is amazing! Tossed the cheapy cord and gave it a real silver rope necklace; now it's a real conversation piece! The coin and pendant was a beautiful birthday gift from my son.

Loose fit
By SFujitaVerified Reviewer from Japan on 12/20/2011
Pros:
Make a coin a gift, One Of A Kind
Cons:
Bad fit - too loose, Expensive, Poor Quality
Best Uses:
Gift For Adult, Gift for non-collector, Holiday Gift, Special Occasion
Was this a gift?:
Yes

Comments about Royal Canadian Mint Pendant Making Kit (coin not included):

As others mentioned the strap is plastic. However, installation *was* easy - simply make sure to completely open the loop before trying to install the coin.
The problem is that, even with the screw completely tightened so there is no more room for tightening, the coin is loose and rattles.
