The lens on this product is very good. The illumination switch on the one I received remained on after its "maiden voyage". I had to disassemble the product and properly reassemble it. Took 15 minutes of my time and it has been problem free every since. It may have been a fluke but it was a relatively easy fix.

I have one of these that is about 50 yrs old or older. All metal design and quite nice. This one is very similar with the addition of an LED for better examination. Only problem is a slight lack of quality on the metal sheath. First thing I noticed was how sharp the edges of the metal was. Not a big deal for an adult, but for kids it could pose a problem. Otherwise, a nice collectors tool.

I use this for checking coins when I'm out and at home. The only thing I was not happy with was the sharp edges on the inside of the casing and had to bevel them so as to prevent any chance of slicing a finger.

I've had one of these Magnifiers with LED for 6 years now and the original battery is still working just fine, must have for any coin or jewellery collector!!!!!!
