Comments about Royal Canadian Mint 25-Cent Coin - 75th anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada (2011):
Nice design, neat idea, wonderful to commemorate something uniquely Canadian, but really -- [$] for a cupronickle quarter with what -- 15 to 20 cents worth of metal? Oh, and a booklet too. If the Mint really wanted to commemorate the CBC it would have done it with either a circulating coin, trading at face value, or in silver (and at current silver prices, [$] is high for even that!) as a commemorative.

Comments about Royal Canadian Mint 25-Cent Coin - 75th anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada (2011):
The coin is much larger than the quarter that is in circulation.
Cupro-nickel is the circulation coin standard of today so it is fitting that the coin is made of this metal. Its appearance is rugged and dramatizes the early CBC microphone used by CBC Radio.
The well-made and thoughtful book is a walk down memory lane - Don Messer, Front Page Challenge, Nature of Things - so many shows that inspire us to be uniquely Canadian.
A cherished gift for every family member, young and old. Not every coin need be gold to be gold to the receiver.
Thank you CBC and thank you Canadian Mint.

Comments about Royal Canadian Mint 25-Cent Coin - 75th anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada (2011):
For the price it should be sterling silver. RC Mint should concentrate on commemorative coins with a unique Canadian theme. Leave the year of... coins alone

Comments about Royal Canadian Mint 25-Cent Coin - 75th anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada (2011):
The value of the coin for the metal is a blank of about 5 - 10 cents. For a limited production value of the metal blank the Royal Canadian Mint could easily offer a coin of higher metal content for the value even as a set. The 25 cent piece as circulation coins have been stamped by the millions in Canada. For $20 - $30 this coin is a dis-service to the value of CBC and the Mint. Economically $10 coin with 20 million sales $200 Million. Or your [$] with "not interested in the coin" Very poor economic decisions at the Mint.

Comments about Royal Canadian Mint 25-Cent Coin - 75th anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada (2011):
The coin looks nice but it serves as a sad reminder of how the CBC has gone downhill. Its radio programmes are a shadow of what they were, the demise of classical radio 2 was a symptom of the malaise. Its flagship television seems to be mainly sports such as hockey. Surely there is already enough violence to be seen on the news, do we need to see more? CBC current affairs and discussion programmes are not a patch on those of TVO which runs on a shoestring budget. It looks as if TVO and the other education channels are what the CBC used to be. For shame.
